Residential projects are one of the most challenging and unique types to design. I see it as 3D art that you can actually walk into and through. It's living art in a constant state of movement and change. By arranging and placement of natural and man made elements, you can create a series of outdoor rooms that can stimulate a variety of human emotions and response. Create a sence of excitement or relaxation. It can stimulate the sense of sight, smell, sound, touch and even taste.
Hardscape elements are the backbone of my designs. Plants will grow, change, and die but the hardscape elements such as stone, brick, and wood will always remain. By design you can control a persons emotion through the environment you create. My design pallet includes sun orientation, light and shade, shadow patterns, breezes, color, texture, smell, visual movement, sound, and wildlife.
